The Blue Sky Cafe is in Sudder Street Kolkata not far from the Salvation Army and across the road from the Fairlawn Hotel. I was staying at the Astoria hotel with a banged up foot from an accident where I snapped my left foot . I got lost in the lostness of it all hunting the lust . Karma is a big deal. I never understood the word until years after Kolkata. I had forged a path however small in the Australian poetry scene and I was introduced to a vivacious redhead who was a poet , artist, fashion doll , who had an amazing mind . Her love of literature blew me away . She wanted to publish some of my work . Things were going well when I suddenly started to get feelings for her. These feelings were overwhelming and I felt myself falling deeply in love . Come Christmas some badly worded emails and all hell broke loose . My tongue and pen went into an overdrive of anger . It was a bad time and I’m not proud of how I handled things . I just lost it. A few years passed and I was living on a Buddhist property in north east Gippsland. Tibetan flags were everywhere. Rainbows appeared every second week . I was asked to paint some cabins and I started with Cabin one . This person happened to be a poet who was the best friend of my lady poet publisher. I had gone three hundred kilometres to lose myself in the white clouds of W Tree and there was my karma waiting for me . What does it mean , well I’m not sure but karma will follow you down every rathole to get you. The poet found out who I was and for the next three years I was in the hells of Mara as she sniped away at my sense of righteousness. She knew who I was and it wasn’t pretty. Living in Melbourne someone I knew fell on hard times and I said he should come live at my place. It turned into another form of hell and I became so angry with him I could have powered the state of Victoria. In a morning of absolute electric madness and rage I rushed out of the house to fall flat in the middle of a busy street busting my wrist and thumb at the same time . Anger had delivered me karma. Kolkata I was there for the pussy. Simple as that . I met a woman who sent my pomegranate seeds going in all directions. I was trying to be holy but really I was just another desperate deviant on the lookout for you know what. So, arrive in Kolkata, first day , then fall break my foot . Im in agony on the street where karma gave me a well deserved kicking.
